How pot odds work
Pot odds compare the size of the pot to the cost of your call. If the pot is €100 and your opponent bets €50, you're calling €50 to win €150 — that's 3:1 odds. Convert that to a percentage: required equity = call / (pot + call). Here, 50 / 200 = 25%.
If your hand wins more than 25% of the time against their range, the call is profitable in the long run. If less, fold. That's it — the single most profitable habit you can build.
The 2-and-4 shortcut
With one card to come, multiply your outs by 2 for a quick equity estimate. With two cards to come (flop to river), multiply outs by 4. A flush draw has 9 outs — on the flop, that's about 36% to hit by the river.
